Kevin Grove
Kevin Grove is a the Division Chief for the Division of Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, as well as a Senior Scientist in the Division of Reproductive & Developmental Sciences, and Director of the Obese NHP Resource. Grove received his BSc in the Department of Animal Science at Washington State University in 1990, and his PhD in Neuroscience from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the same university in 1994. He did his postdoctoral work at the Institute of Clinical Research of Montreal. Grove returned to the Northwest to join the ONPRC Division of Neuroscience in 1996. He has won 5 Technology Innovations awards from OHSU his collaborations with Industry partnerships to develop new therapeutics for the treatment of obesity and diabetes. He has also won several awards and acknowledgements for his highly collaborative work in the developmental programming of metabolic system with a focus on the effects of poor maternal metabolic health and nutrition on early neonatal health complications and long-term disease risks in the offspring. His group also has a large program in adult metabolic diseases and complications, with a strong emphasis on women’s health and sex differences in metabolic diseases. He has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and has extensive funding from the NIH, industry partnerships and foundations.
