Simon Chu

A/Prof Simon Chu is an accomplished researcher serving as the group leader of the Hormone Cancer Therapeutics Laboratory in the Centre for Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Hudson Institute. His current research interests focus on the underlying causes of an endocrine-related cancer known as granulosa cell tumours, which are a less common type of ovarian cancer. His primary objective includes exploring innovative combination therapeutic strategies for treating these cancers. He has established a strong collaborative network with a community of ovarian cancer survivors, fostering meaningful interactions through a prominent social media platform. This unique engagement with patients has introduced the crucial theme of patient-driven outcomes into his research, ensuring that the perspectives and needs of those affected by ovarian cancer remain at the forefront of his work. His program has been supported through funding from the MRFF and US Department of Defence.
