Dr Pradeep Tanwar is an ARC Future Fellow and Cancer Institute NSW CD Fellow in the School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Newcastle. Dr Tanwar was originally trained in Veterinary Medicine (BVSc, 1998-2003), and then obtained his PhD (2007). The major focus of the Dr Tanwar’s research is the elucidation the molecular players involved in the organogenesis and oncogenesis of the reproductive tract. His group is using genetically modified mouse models, cancer patient-derived xenograft models and primary human tissue samples to define the molecular and cellular events involved in diseases of the reproductive tract and then using this knowledge to develop targeted therapies to improve clinical outcomes in human patients.
